Prayer is a vital part of the counseling process, but do some of your counselees ever ask you why God is not answering their prayers? They may be frustrated and doubt that prayer even works. Prayer is not a formula for us to control God or a hot-line to demand our own plans. Our timing, hearts, motives, and the things we ask for matter when we pray. We must help our counselees to tune their hearts to what God wants, trusting His plans and timing are better so that their hearts can be shaped into the image of His Son as they wait.
