Your counseling should be done in the context of something bigger than just helping people with their immediate problems. And to do that, you need to put your counseling in the context of glorifying God and looking for ways to lead your counselees to glorify God. Counseling is more than just fixing problems; it’s helping people realign their lives with the glory of God. John Piper says “Missions exists because worship does not.” We could say “Biblical counseling exists because people living for the glory of God does not.”
